It starts with the innovation itself, Zenith created this piece which combats the effects of gravity with what they call “Garity Contoral “it is inspired from marine chronometer gimbal systems using a total of 139 components to have the hairspring and balance wheel move to be always in motion this is made for the 160th anniversary.
What people do not notice and think of on a full Sapphire case is the amount of polishing and engraving it takes, one mistake and you ruin the case once you ruin it that’s it you can never use it again, for that reason is why most watch makers refuse to work with sapphire cases & panels.

The movement in this piece the EL Primero 8812S has a 50-hour power reserve and incudes a power reserve indicator, this piece also has a high frequency movement as per with the EL Primero while in triradial watch makers use a frequency of 18000 VPH Zenith surpasses this by double at 36000 VPH this not only can make it move smoothly but can also help with accuracy.
The Magic of Zenith.
The dial of this piece is a stunning blue lapis lazuli which although hard to craft and not often used in watch making, Zenith has done it with the Zero G, the first G.F.J and also on the chronometer calendar.
The history of Zenith is a long one and a great one we will write an article on that on a later date but they are well known for pieces in the 38-44mm range this piece is quite large at 46mm but as you can see it is very well proportioned.
